Moving to Nairobi with the United Nations

So, you're planning to move to Kenya with the United Nations?

We've been there, done that, and we're here to help!

We are a group of professional UN Spouses (UNKLESA) who have recognized the extreme need for support and assistance to families and individuals before, during, and after relocating to this duty station.   Whether you need advice on accommodation, schools, services, residency permits, security, or just about anything related to relocating and settling in Nairobi, we can help remove many of the headaches, so that you can concentrate on enjoying all that this amazing country has to offer.

Why do we think we can help you?

We have a pool of over 100 members who have all gone through the same journey that you are about to embark upon.  Although Kenya can be a magical, friendly country, 'Wageni' (foreigners) often fall prey to the small section of society that take advantage of our temporary naivety.  Through our own personal experiences, we have been able to identify trustworthy services suppliers (taxis, estate agents, security companies etc.) and we can help you navigate the metaphoric potholes (unfortunately, we can't help with the real ones).  And we're not just talking about avoiding criminal activity, we all have our tales of woe about housing issues, hiring domestic help and buying a car, to name a few.

We truly believe that we can improve the lives of UN Staff here in Nairobi through knowledge empowerment.  We've already gone through the drama, so why should you?
